Senior Lettings Negotiator

Location: Exeter City Centre

Salary: £28,000–£30,000 (negotiable) + Benefits | Full‑Time | Permanent

Hours: Mon – Fri with one in four Saturday mornings

Lockhart Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Senior Lettings Negotiator to join a prestigious, high‑end estate agency in the heart of Exeter. This is a key role within a high‑performing lettings department, offering the opportunity to step into a senior position and support the continued growth of a respected, premium brand.

As Senior Lettings Negotiator, you will work closely with the Head of Lettings, acting as a trusted second‑in‑command while providing leadership, structure, and exceptional service across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Lettings with the day‑to‑day running of the department, ensuring smooth operations, strong performance, and consistent growth.

  • Work towards weekly let targets and monthly move‑ins.

  • Act as a senior point of contact for the team, offering guidance, problem‑solving, and support.

  • Assist with training, mentoring, and onboarding new team members.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to landlords, tenants, and clients.

  • Oversee key departmental tasks, including accounts‑related processes when required.

  • Manage relets, preparing properties for marketing and ensuring prompt relaunch.

  • Build and maintain strong landlord relationships through proactive communication.

  • Identify opportunities to grow the lettings portfolio and support business development.

  • Ensure effective use of lettings systems and software, maintaining accurate records.

  • Stay up to date with lettings legislation and ensure full compliance.

  • Promote and uphold the company’s culture, values, and Equality, Diversity & Conduct policy.

  • Support and oversee the Lettings Negotiator to help the team meet departmental targets.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Lettings Negotiator (senior experience beneficial but not essential).

  • Strong understanding of lettings legislation and customer service excellence.

  • Confident, proactive, and able to support a busy department with professionalism.
