Meet the founder Tania Lockhart

With over 25 years’ experience in the corporate world, I’ve built a career marked by success, recognition, and a deep understanding of how businesses thrive. After graduating with a degree in Business, I began in Marketing, PR, and Change Management — but it was recruitment that truly clicked for me, and it still does. 

I’ve always known that when the time was right, I’d launch my own brand — and here it is. Lockhart Recruitment is the culmination of decades of experience, a passion for people, and a desire to offer something refreshingly personal in a crowded market. 

I thrive on getting to know businesses and aligning them with the right people. Nothing beats the moment I offer someone a role and hear the joy in their voice — it never gets old. And when a client calls with a vacancy, I still feel that spark of excitement and honour. It’s why I do what I do. 

This business is intentionally boutique. I’ve built teams, scaled operations, and led large functions — but now, I choose to stay hands-on. I believe there’s a gap in the market for a recruitment partner who offers a sincere, owner-led service, without the layers. If I were picking a recruiter I’d want someone experienced, invested, and fair — and that’s exactly what I offer. 

I know the West Country inside out, having grown up in North Tawton and now settled in beautiful Mid Devon. Outside of work, you’ll find me paddleboarding with my wonderfully chaotic mongrel or cheering on my teenagers at the side of a football pitch — a sport I’ve unexpectedly come to love.
